What kind of City do we want?

Many people will have observed the discussions in the media recently regarding the Frome St separated bike lane. This infrastructure is being implemented in the CBD after considerable consultation, to provide opportunities for the transport mix to become more varied by making cycling along the North-South bike route (from Prospect to Mitcham) a safer option.
This change has highlighted the choice that we all face in our local Council areas: what kind of 'City' do we want?
I know that I would like a City and a neighbourhood that is safe to move around in, whether by car, bike or foot. I especially want our older people to feel safe. I want mums and dads to feel safe walking or riding with their kids.

How we move around our neighbourhood and local centres is just one of the many issues that affects our quality of life.

What kind of City do you want?
